4 Bolt-on, sawn through

1. Alvarez Masterworks MD350 existing structure.  Truss rod adjusts from inside sound hole.

2. Saw through the neck heel and the fretboard, hopefully missing the truss rod.

3. Modify the neck angle by floss sanding, chisel or other means.   Achieve correct angle for proper string height and saddle height.

4. Drill holes through neck block for 1/4″ bolts and washers.  Drill holes in base of neck heel for threaded inserts.

This will work for ONLY ONE RESET.  Note how the Truss Rod is no longer in alignment with its passageway through the support block behind the soundboard and fretboard extension.  The fret board will bind unless the passageway can be enarged to accommodate the new angle.

5. If a SECOND RESET IS ATTEMPTED, two problems will arise:

a) The Truss Rod will be further misaligned

b) The bolts will be misaligned.  The holes through the neck block will have to be modified, perhaps by using a round file to angle the front edge of each hole.  Also, some kind of small wedge shim must be fashioned from a hard plastic or steel washer so the bolt heads and washers tighten in proper alignment with the threaded inserts.
